About This Experience

Uganda's Ultimate Active Adventure

Uganda is one of East Africa's most extraordinary destinations for active travellers — and this 12-day tour is designed to take full advantage of it. From cycling through open savannah to trekking through ancient rainforest, every day brings a new landscape, a new challenge, and a new perspective on this remarkable country.

Walking Safari Explore Uganda's national parks on foot alongside an experienced ranger guide. Walking safaris bring you closer to the landscape than any game drive can — tracking animals by their prints, learning the sounds of the bush, and experiencing the natural environment at a slower, more intimate pace.

Gorilla & Chimpanzee Trekking Uganda is home to more than half of the world's remaining mountain gorilla population, as well as one of the highest concentrations of chimpanzees in East Africa. On this tour you'll track both. Spending one hour with a habituated gorilla family in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, and following chimpanzee communities through the ancient trees of Kibale Forest National Park.

Bicycle Safari Cycle among zebras, antelopes, and giraffes at Lake Mburo National Park — one of Uganda's most rewarding and accessible cycling destinations. You'll cover ground that game drive vehicles can't reach, discovering hidden corners of the park at your own pace.

Rafting on the Nile The Nile River at Jinja is one of the world's premier white-water rafting destinations. Brave Grade 5 rapids on one of East Africa's most thrilling adventure experiences with the source of the world's longest river as your backdrop.

Hiking through the Mountains and Volcanoes The most challenging hike of the tour is the summit of the Rwenzori Mountains, which rise to 5,109 metres above sea level, making them the highest mountain range in Africa. Combined with hikes through the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and the Kyambura Gorge, this tour offers some of Uganda's most dramatic hiking terrain.

Canoeing on Lake Mutanda Lake Mutanda is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful lakes in Uganda surrounded by volcanic peaks and lush greenery, with the Virunga volcanoes reflected in its calm waters. A canoe trip across the lake offers a peaceful and breathtaking contrast to the more adrenaline-fuelled activities earlier in the tour.
