About This Experience
What Animals Can You Encounter in Uganda?
Uganda is best known for its mountain gorillas but the wildlife experience here goes far beyond a single encounter. This 14-day safari circuit takes you through some of Uganda's most biodiverse national parks, where the sheer variety of animals you can encounter is extraordinary.
Uganda is home to the Big Five — with elephants, buffalos, leopards, and lions all found across its national parks. Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of the best places in East Africa to spot lions, including the famous tree-climbing lions of the Ishasha sector. Elephants and hippos are plentiful along the Kazinga Channel, where boat safaris offer some of the most incredible wildlife viewing in the country.
Chimpanzees can be tracked in Kibale Forest National Park — home to one of the highest concentrations of primates in the world. And at Lake Mburo National Park, you'll find zebras, impalas, topis, elands, and the rare African giant forest hog roaming freely across open savannah.
Uganda's birdlife is equally spectacular with over 1,000 recorded species, it is one of the top birding destinations in the world. From the iconic shoebill stork to the African fish eagle, every game drive and boat safari brings new sightings.
In Uganda, the wildlife list is virtually endless — and this 14-day circuit gives you the time and space to experience as much of it as possible.
